VIL Programs widely known as Virtual Interactive Learning Programs had been introduced to enable working professionals / executives to complete their management education, hone their existing skills and nurture them by being in their cities and by continuing with their professions. The VIL Programs were formally known as Satellite Programs.

The 12 months academic Programs named as Virtual Interactive Learning Programs which have been introduced to enable working professionals /executives to complete their management education from their cities while still being in service or at the same time being involved with any other activities. The Program has been designed to enhance one's skills and upgrade one's management knowledge by the best faculties in the country. All these Programs have a common feature of CAMPUS COMPONENT where the students visit the CAMPUS for a period of 5 Days for intense learning.
The VIL Programs formerly known as Satellite Programs were launched in the year 2002.

At the time of filing the online application form , candidates can select their study centers from the specified list in the application form. The technical partners have the final discretion on the allotments.
One cannot take the Program through internet / desktops. One will have to come to the Virtual Classroom location to attend the sessions.
Yes, one can visit any of the Virtual classrooms for the VIL Programs, in their city for a demonstration.
One may opt to take any of the Virtual Classroom Location from whichever city one would be traveling /transferred to, with the condition that the study center is functional in the city for the batch (the student belongs to) where the student gets transfer/travel.
This is possible only with the prior written approval from both the class-room coordinators so as to make the necessary infrastructure available to accommodate the additional students.
Further the student needs to fulfill the rules and regulations as laid down by the technical partner.

Yes, they are eligible provided they are actively involved in their business post completion of their Graduation.
They are not eligible for the VIL Programme, but if a candidate has undergone 10+2+3 pattern of education their stance for application can be considered.
Yes, if the eligibility criteria mentioned under question 1 of admissions is fulfilled, then the candidates would be eligible.
One may apply online by paying an application fee as applicable at the time of admission (inclusive of all charges) within the deadline. The application fee is non - refundable.
One may then register themself in our website http://sat.xlri.ac.in/ through the link (http://sat.xlri.ac.in/satadmission/). Once the admissions for the Programmes are open, the registered applicants would be intimated about the admission dates etc. and one may apply.
The application forms can be downloaded /availed only when the admission link is activated.

To apply for the Programme, you do not need any documents. You simply need to follow the procedure mentioned in question 5 of admissions.
The admissions are open, generally 4 months before the academic session begins. Refer question 5 of Program.
As of now, there is no entrance exam to get admission for the Programs
Admission of a candidate is generally based on their Personal Interview (PI), Statement of Purpose (SOP), academic and professional background. If need be, the admission committee may decide on any other mechanism for the selection process.
The selected candidates will be informed individually by an e-mail along with a copy of the Letter of admission and at the same time, one can check the result on our website using their XSAT Login ID and password.

At present the Program fee is of Rs. 2,25,000/- which can be paid in four installments plus service tax as applicable. The course fee is inclusive of books, study materials and the Campus Component fee of Rs. 35,000/-.
The Program fees can be paid online. It can be paid online through 4 instalments. Students need to pay the fees on the scheduled instalment dates as notified at the time of admission. Late fee charges will be applied if a student is unable to meet the deadlines set by the VIL Office.
Once the candidate is selected for the Program, the student can write to / get in touch with the Technical partner. The technical partner will guide the student for the loan processes.
To sponsor employees the Company needs to sign an MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) with XLRI, post which they may sponsor their employees. For this, the Company needs to send requests at email@example.com.
No, the admission procedure and criterion both are same as it is for the other applicants. There is no separate criterion or process for the sponsored employees.
The VIL Programs offer a portfolio of varied academic courses along with a Final Project / Dissertation and they are structured in three terms. You may refer the courses (link to courses)
Final Project is the last course of the Program i.e. at the end of term-III & the objective of the Final Project is intended to encourage the students to take up an intensive / live study on some aspects of management and to acquaint themselves with the analytical skills which one has learnt during the Programs. The final project is a non credit course, hence final OAGP will not be affected with one's performance in final project.
Students who score more than 5.74 TAGP in term-I are eligible for the final project / dissertation.
No, the Final Project/Dissertation is not mandatory. It is optional for the eligible students.
The only mode of Communication for the Program related updates and information will be through the AIS (Academic Information System). A student will get access to the AIS only after paying the 1st installment fees.
The mode of communication with faculty is through e-mails; however a student can make a call over telephone as well or a student can write to the concerned teaching assistant, they will help you in facilitating the communication with the Professor.
We encourage students to ensure 100% attendance in every subject as every session gives you the scope to interact, learn, imbibe and take away knowledge. In case the attendance for any particular course is less than 50%, the student will have to repeat the course with the succeeding batch.
The course material supplied by XLRI would be sufficient. For further reference or additional information a student is free to refer other books (as recommended by Professor or out of ones own interest).
The campus component is an integral part of the course curriculum. The students need to stay in XLRI campus for five days to get an opportunity to experience the class-room sessions of XLRI. It's a 5 days of intense and rigorous learning for the students.
The campus component is generally scheduled somewhere between April to May.
Campus component offers the students an opportunity to interact with the faculty & VIL staff members, their class mates & to feel the XL culture by being in campus. Apart from the class room sessions the CC schedules examinations, quizzes , interactive sessions, cultural activities, informal interactions etc. to give the working executives the scope to relive their school /college days.
Yes, it is mandatory to attend the Campus Component, failing which a student is not eligible for certification with the batch. Even if due to some exigency a student is not present s/he will have to attend the same with the succeeding batch to become eligible for certification.
During the campus component the stay arrangement will be in the student's hostel. The Program fee is inclusive of the accommodation charges.
Break is not encouraged but in exceptional cases break is allowed only after the completion of term-1 with the prior approval from the VIL office. One has to ensure to take care to complete the Program within a timeframe of 36 months from the date of registration. A student is entitled to avail only one Break to complete his/er Program.
The VIL Programs are offered only to Indian residents. For any international project if taken up by the student during the mid of the Program then s/he has to defer from the Program by fulfilling the break formalities.
Students are expected to maintain proper discipline & class room decorum which are essential for the smooth functioning of the session.
Each student will successfully complete the Program by full filling the minimum course requirements like attendance, submission of projects and assignments in time, fair participation in all exams along with their active participation to make the VIL Program a grand success.
After successful completion of the Program, students will get the XLRI Alumni status and hence it is expected that the students do justice to the Program and take the brand forward.
A student is assessed on his/her performance on a continuous basis through quizzes (announced/surprise), assignment/s (individual/group), case study, examination (midterm & end term), including class participation and surveys, given to them from time to time in each course and accordingly the grades are awarded based on all the components.
A Nine-point grading system is used to evaluate courses. The nine grades, their corresponding grade points and equivalent marks are given below:

The Certificates along with the transcripts are awarded to the students during the Graduation Ceremony which is conducted in the month of April at the XLRI Campus.
Yes, on successful completion of these Long duration Programs you will be awarded with the XLRI alumni status and you may avail all the related benefits (be a part of the alumni meets, chapters etc.).

No, but there is a portal named VPNB (Virtual Placement Noticeboard) which is for , of and driven by the students . Hence the students are expected to be actively involved with this initiative to utilize it to it's maximum.
Library facility may be availed by the VIL students during their Campus visit.
The completion of any certification course on this medium does not make one eligible for the regular/ fellow Program. They have to undergo a separate selection process for the same.
Yes, you may either with the help of the Technical partner or the VIL office.
Diploma is awarded after more than 900 hours of full- time classroom interaction. Whereas a Post graduate Certificate can be awarded after 300 hours of part- time Program spread over 12/14 months. Therefore the Program has been designed accordingly.
As an when required there may be guest lectures / industry experts who may address /interact with the students during their curriculum.
Yes, there is a possibility of the faculty visiting the study centers during the tenure of the Program.
